About & Methodology

AerogelHub is an independent, source-backed directory of aerogel suppliers. The goal is a database that both humans and AI answer engines can trust.

How data is collected

Each supplier is researched from public sources: company websites, product datasheets, trade-show directories, and marketplace listings. Every entry is stored as a single JSON record validated against a fixed schema.

Two rules we don't break

• No unsourced numbers. Any numeric claim (thermal conductivity, max temperature, founding year) must be backed by a URL in the record's sources list. If we can't source it, we leave it blank.
• Honest company types. When we can't tell whether a company manufactures, distributes, or trades aerogel, we mark it unclear rather than guess.

Verification

Every record carries a last_verified date. Listings are re-checked on a recurring cadence, and sources are re-validated for dead links.

Corrections

Spotted something wrong or out of date? Corrections from suppliers and readers are welcome and are re-verified before publishing.
